About

GIS Professionals should be excited.  We are in an evolving field that is still at the "baby" stages of development.  There is much to explore and learn in the world of Geographic Information Systems, and GIScience.  This website can by no means attempt to cover every single corner of geographic information systems or its sub-fields.  However, I will attempt to add as much information as I can on a frequent basis.  Please return often and check it out.

Why GISCP.com?

GISCP is an acronym that stands for Geographic Information Systems Certified Professional.  A GIS certified professional typically exhibits the unique quality of having both professional and educational experience in Geographic Information Systems.

GISCP.com was created primarily out of a term project for a graduate class I took in Winter of 2007 as part of Oregon State University's GEO 565: GIS and Science course.  This was a required course as part of my Professional Certification in GIS at Oregon State.  Now that my project is complete, my goal is to develop GISCP.com into the ultimate resource portal for GIS professionals.
